Today our little lady turns one and a half years old!! She had her 18 month check up and is practically perfect in every way :) She has grown 4 inches in the past 6 months (since her 1 year check up) and is measuring in at 35.75" tall and weighs 27lbs 11.3 oz. Dr says she is staying right on track and is happy with her measurements. She is speaking more and more clearly each day. Can say many words and is even putting them together into phrases. She loves to be read to and loves to read to her babies. She is quick to help and loves to throw things away in the trash can. We are still working on cleaning up the toys, that is a challenge but she's getting better. She will follow directions if you ask her to go get her shoes or a book or to go find her water bottle. Quite the helper. She will eat pretty much anything and I try to keep in interesting. A little picky about her veggies but if she doesn't know they are in there she doesn't seem to mind them :) Loves her milk and water and will "cheers" with anyone who is willing. Fruit is her FAVORITE, haven't found one that she doesn't like, and she has recently been introduced to Great Nana's tomato plants. She LOVES to pick them and eat them as she goes. Sleep is still wonderful and she's still in her crib. We are waiting for a sign to put her in a "big girl bed" but she doesn't ever try to escape the crib and falls asleep so nicely that I am in no rush to transfer her any time soon. Potty training is our next big step and we have purchased the big girl potty and step stool. We are waiting for baby Hannah to arrive before we make any attempt. But she likes to sit on the training potty like a big girl and any happy accident is welcomed and praised. She still has the sunniest of personalities and loves to say hi and bye to everyone we see. Please and thank you are becoming regular but she does need some prompting at times. She becomes more and more attached to her little kitty blankie that she calls "baby" and it comes with us pretty much everywhere. We have been prepping for baby Hannah's arrival and so far so good. Penny is getting used to all the baby stuff that is taking over the house so hopefully it won't be as big of a shock when we bring the actual baby home. Although I don't know that we can ever really prepare her. I think she will be a great helper and love her new baby sister, that's what I'm hoping for anyways :)
Penelope just lights up my days and I know I say it all the time but I am the luckiest mommy out there. I love the little lady that she is and I am so proud to call her my daughter.
