Penelope turned 8 months old on August 20th. I'm a little behind on my blogging, oops!
Miss personality is what we call her. She talks all the time and even loves to let out an occasional scream of excitement now and then, OK who am I kidding, she is a loud one!! And I am sure it is due to my encouraging but I think her voice is so darn cute. Momma and dadda are her understandable words but she tries to say kitty and she babbles up a storm. We are working on some sign language with the help of my friend Chelsea and milk is the first thing she signs when she wakes up from her nap. Now I am not 100% sure it is intentional at this point but she does always have a bottle when she wakes up, so I think it is. And she has now learned how to clap! She claps all the time for any reason and it is accompanied by a YAYYY as well. It is the cutest thing ever!!
Still doesn't move much. No crawling yet but we are now forcing lots of tummy time. She plays very nicely with what ever is in front of her and if she throws everything out of her reach then she plays with her toes or her hands. She is a content little one. She sits up nice and tall and standing is her newest advancement. She likes to pull up when we offer our hands but still hasn't quite gotten it down on her own.
We went to the beach the other day to escape the heat. Penelope has been to the beach before but this time she got to play in the sand and put her feet in the water. Like with many new things she acted like she'd been doing it for years. The water was a bit chilly and the weather was too but in the sand it was pleasant. She enjoyed flinging the sand all over.
Penelope and I have been hitting up the parks when we can. It is summer here in Awesometown and the heat is unbearable at times but luckily in the shade at the park there is usually a nice breeze and we have a great time. We have had a few play dates with Penny's friends Evelynn and Jamison. Penny loves to play with her friends.
We took Penny to her first Dodger game the other night. Our friends Sonny and Nicole invited us and the little P Nut and we had such a great time. We visited Corey's Oma that morning and then it was off to the game. Penny did great with the crowds and of course cheered on her team with her clapping!! They didn't win but it still was a fun time :)
Eating and sleeping are still going very well. As far as teeth we thought we had something coming in a while back but nothing ever broke through completely so still awaiting the debut of the chompers. And I am always sure it is going to be any day now as everything continues to go in the mouth and drool is everywhere, but we will see.
She is our little sponge, just soaking up everything around her. Very observant and learning more and more every day. All in all she is one healthy little lady and we of course couldn't be happier.
