Penny had her second round of vaccinations. This time there were some side effects. She was much more cranky than the first time and had a horrible poopy blow out while I was at dinner with my mom. I have heard horror stories from both my sis in laws and my mom about these poopy explosions and now I have experienced one first hand. Hahaha!! I'm sure it won't be the last :)
(On a side note I will say the Graco infant car seat we have is pretty much a dream for cleaning. The entire outside fabric part comes off and you can throw it in the washer and then in inside is a bit more tricky with all of the nooks and crannies but with a few q-tips, soap and baby wipes it was not as bad as I had anticipated.)
She measured in well.
100th Percentile for head circumference 43 cm
97th Percentile for height 26"
and 75th percentile for weight 15lbs 3.6 oz
Hearty and healthy!! So thankful for that.
Penelope loves people! She is super smiley and will throw in a giggle now and then. She has become a talking machine. She loves to interact and throw her two cents in whenever she gets the chance. Of course its all baby talk but I am sure she has said Hi quite a few times :) She will even yell now instead of crying if she just wants attention. Although crying is still a major form of communication especially when hungry.
We keep thinking maybe teeth are on their way but nothing so far. Lots of drool and of course everything goes in the mouth. Penny is getting more and more coordinated by the minute. She passes things from hand to hand and will hold on to pretty much everything. She loves to pinch!! Any skin she can grab on to she pinches down and sometimes leaves a mark! And of course hair and clothes are an easy target.
She is still a major snuggle bug and loves any dolls, stuffed animals or blankets to cuddle with. She's always been a fan of the paci but really only wants it when she is tired. She rolls on to her side quite often and is still practicing rolling over.
I went to the store and bought a baby soft brush. She doesn't have much hair (some might say she has little to no hair) but it looks super adorable when I part it to the side. One day it will be long enough for a clip but for now the headbands will do.
I sometimes sit her in her highchair. She likes to be up where all the action is. She will play with her toys and watch Corey and I cook dinner or hang out. We have tried out the bouncy seat and so far so good. She sits up pretty well Doesn't do much bouncing yet but loves to look at all of the colorful toys.
Penny is quite the Daddy's girl. Not only does she look just like him, she simply lights up when she sees his face. It is the cutest thing ever!! It really melts my heart to see how much love there is between the two of them. I am so thankful to have such a wonderful husband. He is very understanding and puts up with all of my "first time mom" worries and concerns, as crazy as they seem. I couldn't do it without him. I just love him so much!!
She's adapted well to our new schedule but is not much of a fan of naps. She will usually get at least one good one in and it is usually when I am out running errands with her. Other than that she takes little naps throughout the day. Sleeping through the night is going well still. The past week she has been waking up randomly but very little coaxing and she is back to sleep in no time. What can I say she is my daughter :)
I cant say enough how lucky we are to have such a happy little girl. Of course she has her moments where I am sure she is practicing for her leading roll where she is to win best actress (a flare for the drama, like her momma) but over all she is just the most perfect little baby!!! I never knew I could love anything or anyone this much in my whole entire life. What a lucky lady I am.
