Christmas 2013 and Ringing in the New Year of 2014!!
Christmas 2013 and Ringing in the New Year of 2014!!
Christmas came and went like a whirl wind. We were so lucky to be able to spend it with our family. Christmas Eve we headed down to Corey's Oma's house where we celebrated with all of Corey's family. There were a ton of kiddos running around and Penny had so much fun playing with cousins.
Then that evening Corey's mom Candy came and stayed with us and we all had so much fun waking up and sharing Christmas morning together. A tradition that I'm hoping we will continue.
My mom and Aunt Patty (who was in town from Oregon) came for breakfast and to open more presents.
And then that evening my family along with Corey's dad and wife Katherine came to our house for a wonderful dinner of Chinese food (a McEwan family tradition) and every MORE presents!!
I truly think the best gift of all was to be able to celebrate with our family and start new and continue old family traditions now with Penelope.
Our New Year's eve was very mellow. I had to work that evening and so Corey and I celebrated at home. To be honest I fell asleep before midnight and Corey woke me up for a New Year kiss and back to sleep we went. We woke up New Years day and had a great breakfast and watched the Rose Parade. Perfect start to the New Year.
And this year we have even more to be thankful for, big announcement to come next blog post!!
Penelope Louise Turns ONE!!
Penelope Louise Turns ONE!!
On December 20th 2013 our little angel turned one and we had her party the following day. Birthday party fun! We were seeing spots as we celebrated our little Lady's first birthday. We had a lady bug theme and it was so much fun. We kept it pretty small and had family and some close friends over. Penny is so lucky to have such a wonderful group of people who care so much about her. Everyone was so generous with gifts and love and I think a good time was had by all. We are so in love with our baby girl.

She now has 10 teeth including 3 molars. And to my excitement they haven't really phased her.
She eats pretty much anything still and is a huge fan of our morning smoothies. Mommy loves it cause I pack it full of fruit and veggies :)
She has been cruising on the furniture for about a month or two now and just recently (about one month after her 1st bday) has started walking. She loves when she falls down and we all clap and cheer! And she gets back up and does it over and over again.
She has lots and lots to say and loves to talk to anyone who will listen.
She loves to wave at everyone and make silly faces that are sure to get a reaction.
She tries to put her shoes and socks on and loves to take on and off her necklaces and bracelets.
Her favorite toy is a wooden stick with bells on it and she loves her toy cell phone.
She loves taking all the pieces out of her puzzles and attempting to put them back.
Harry our cat is one of her favorite friends. She says hi to him constantly and she loves to pet and kiss him.
She loves to kiss everyone goodbye and loves to give hugs.
I am so proud to say Penny is just growing into the most well natured, friendly, sweet and adorable little girl in the whole wide world! I love her more and more with each and every day and I am just so happy to be her momma. My cup runneth over!!
