On July 20th Our little P Nut turned 7 months old!!
Laughing constantly - Corey and my new favorite past time is seeing who can get Penny to laugh the most. Her giggles are intoxicating and we just can't get enough!!
Eating like a champ! So far I've been making all of Penelope's baby food. And she seems to love it!! She's a very good eater just like Mommy and Daddy :) So far Pears with Oatmeal is her absolute favorite but I have to say she really enjoys everything we've fed her so far (except rice cereal, she really disliked that one) The list includes: Avocado, Sweet Potato, Butternut squash, Pears, Apples, Carrots, Oatmeal and Peas
Bouncing Baby - Whoever invented that bouncing chair is a total genius. Penny loves her "rocket ship" and it keeps her entertained for hours on end. Strengthening her legs and getting them ready for walking! It plays music and she loves to sing. And if I forget to pull it away from the wall she can grab the curtains which she loves to eat!! The other day I found her like this….(I know, bad mother but she was happy and man it sure was hilarious!!)
She also enjoys her walker but I find that she tries to bounce it that too. Definitely loves to stand and chase Harry.
Talking up a storm and singing like Mariah - Penelope's new favorite thing is to sing. She makes this high pitched, yet quiet, noise and Corey has dubbed her the next Mariah Carey. And then she goes into some lower pitched LOUD yelling type notes and thoroughly enjoys anyone who dares to challenge her in a yell/sing off.
Momma and Dadda are her favorite words. Momma when she's upset and Dadda when she's happy, of course :)
Entertains herself. Penny loves to sit on the floor and play with her toys and books and whatever else we put in front of her. She sits up very well and now is lunging forward if toys get out of reach. She still hates to be on her stomach so usually gets upset once she has made the plunge forward but will roll over when she has had enough. She pushes with her little legs but doesn't get anywhere at this point and we have no signs of crawling yet. As much as I can't wait to see her on the move I realize how lucky l am that she stays in one place.
Not so easy to fool. Before I could hide things behind my back and poof it was gone but now the little P nut knows that I'm hiding it from her and won't let up till I really put it away. Or distract her with something else
Sleeping beauty - Penelope is still sleeping like a champ. She knows when it is nap time or bed time and she is not afraid to tell you or anyone else that it is time for her to go to sleep! Falling asleep in my arms is becoming more of a challenge since there is always so much to look at and see but you better believe I soak up those rare chances I get when she still snuggles up and drifts off. But as soon as she hits those sheets in that crib she is OUT! And she enjoys going to sleep. That walk up the stairs to her room is exciting to her. She can't wait to snuggle with her baby doll and get some zzzz's.

Rotating in crib - Sometimes Penny just likes to hang in her crib after she has woken up from a nap. Okay so maybe its mommy who makes her stay in there if she wakes up early cause I desperately need that last 30 minutes to get the housework done! But anyhow… her new trick is rotating in her crib. We put her to sleep with her head going one direction and when I go in to get her up her head going the other direction. I watched her doing it it he monitor the other day. She pushes with her legs and spins herself around. Silly girl. But it keeps her entertained. Next step will be sitting up in bed and pulling up on the side of the crib! I think Ill stick with the rotating for now :)

Ears Pierced! On Monday July 22 we got little P Nuts ears pierced. She was all smiles when we arrived at the Dr office, she didn't know what was coming. They did each ear individually which was tough but she did really well. Cried of course but was smiling by the time we left. So far so good with the earrings they don't seem to bother her at all. And she just looks so darn adorable!!
Little Penelope is just getting bigger and bigger by the minute! Being her momma brings my life so much happiness. She is my heart and I love her more and more every day.
