Our Sweet Penny Lou is now 5 months old!! I swear she is getting bigger by the second!! I was looking at pictures of her from last month and I am telling you the clothes she had on then don't even fit her now. It amazes me how much she is growing up. She can sit now unassisted for a longer period of time. She plays on her tummy and grabs at her toys and looks at herself in the mirror. Her favorite place to be is in her bouncy seat! She pushes all the buttons to make the music play and she pulls on all of the hanging toys. She LOVES to smile!! And she even laughs if you make funny noises or faces. She has started making mamamama and boobooboo sounds and you are guaranteed a smile when you make those noises back to her. She's wearing size 6 month plus clothes and we just moved up to size 3 diapers. She can focus very well on grabbing toys and my necklace/ring and hair. She usually stays entertained with whatever she's playing with for quite some time. She takes a short nap in the morning and then a good long one in the afternoon and sometimes she takes another short one before bed. And she is a solid sleeper still through the night. She goes down between 7pm and 8pm and wakes at about7am.
We started her on rice cereal a few days ago. I think the new sensation of a more solid substance is a bit strange to her. Corey tried it and apparently it tastes like cardboard so I can't say I would be a fan, but she doesn't seem to hate it. She's learning how to swallow and not push it out with her tongue. And there are never any tears just a face that doesn't make it seem all that appealing. But she eats it and even throws in a smile when we cheer and tell her how yummy it is! She absolutely loves to sit in her highchair so that's a plus. Hopefully once we move onto veggies she will be a pro!
She still seems to be teething although all that has popped through is still just the one little tooth on the side. But everything goes in the mouth. My sis in law gave me these mesh pouch things that you are supposed to put fruit and veggies in but I have been using them for ice cubes. They work great cause they have a handle which is not cold so her had isn't bothered. She loves them.
The pool has become more of a regular thing since she loves the water. We have a floaty thing with a shade cover (sorry no pic) that she sits in and LOVES it. And our backyard splash days are already becoming a Sunday tradition and we love it.
Penelope is just such a happy girl. So full of personality. Corey and I just don't know how we got so lucky. We both love her so much and we are having so much fun watching her grow.
