Mom's Birthday Bash

Happy Birthday Nana!

Yesterday, February 23rd, was my Momma's birthday.  The family got together to celebrate with some yummy food and cake.  We had a wonderful time!!

2 Months Old!!

2 Months Old

Our sweet P Nut is 2 months old today!!  She had her 2 month check up and here are the stats: 13.3 lbs - 22.5 inches long!!  She's a big girl!!

She had her first round of shots which were just horrible as to be expected.  But now she is sleepy so she is napping the day away :)

Penelope is not much of a fan of tummy time but she can pick her head up and look around and moves her head from side to side when we call her name or jingle her toys.  Sometimes she gets so sick of it she just rolls over onto her back.  But I'm sure it is accidental at this point :) When sitting up she holds her head well and she loves to stand up and push with her legs.  She much prefers sitting up when being held as opposed to being cradled.  She loves to look around and see what is going on.  She is taking it all in!  Its amazing to see her reaction to things and how she can track things with her eyes.  We have an American flag wall hanging that Corey made and it is right behind the couch.  She could stare at that thing for hours!!  She loves it.  She is drawn towards light and anything that creates contrast like the blinds and the ceiling fan.  She loves the ceiling fan :) 

She is a smiley one. 

 

That's another thing about mommy hood that people tell you about but you never really know what they mean till it happens to you, that first smile.  It is the most amazing thing in the whole wide world!!  She loves to giggle and smile at mommy and daddy and we find ourselves making the most ridiculous noises and faces just for the chance to see that smile again and again.  She is cooing and grring and if she could she would be telling us all stories for hours on end.  

She loves bath time!  

A water baby for sure.  She loves when we pour the water on her head and kicks and splashes all around.  I'm pretty sure its her favorite time of the day :)

We are working very hard to get on a schedule and so far so good.  She pretty much does an every three hour wake, change, feed, play, nap repeat during the day and I was seriously considering not posting this because I really don't want to jinx it but she has been sleeping through the night!  It has been consistent for this past week so I am hoping its not just luck.  But I am sure to appreciate every minute she gives me of sleep.  And I know that it could all change at any moment but like I said I sure to appreciate the past week :)  Bu we will continue to work at our schedule, for mommy's sake that is :)

We had our first evenings away from our Sweet P this month.  We sure are lucky to have grandparents so close that can watch her so mommy and daddy can have some time with each other.  Corey's dad Grandpa John and his wife Grandma Katherine watched her one night and my mom Nana Sue watched her for us on Valentine's day.  Speaking of Valentine's day here are some pics:

We fall more in love each and every day.  Parenthood is so amazing and we are so lucky to have such a beautiful baby girl :)
